Five teams joined the staggered start of the treasure hunt. The lead player in each case was:

• John Davenport with ‘Im & ‘Er
• Alan Wells with ‘Mystery Masters’
• Colin Warwick with ‘Raining Champs’
• Nick Winter with ‘Alton Hunters’ and
• Terry Burton with ‘TB+1’

After nearly 4 hours the results on the day were:

• Second place with 22.5 points, Colin Warwick’s team ‘Raining Champs’.
• First place with 23 points was secured by Alan Wells’ team ‘Mystery Masters’.

Congratulations to the winners and runners up for a closely fought competition, and to all the other teams that participated, even if you had to subsequently withdraw due to the heatwave.

You all showed grit, determination, and a great sense of humour. I’d like to thank you all for your support.
